Present at the trailer launch of 'Raabta', Sushant Singh Rajput was all smiles as he spoke about the film with the media. Apart from 'Raabta', the actor also addressed questions about the two ongoing debates in Bollywood - celebrities endorsing fairness creams and nepotism.
Sushant too comes from a non-filmy background and has had no Godfather to rely on in the industry. Talking about nepotism in the industry, Sushant said, "Almost all the films I have done, and the films I am doing in one and a half years, and the films I really want to do are the many options and I had the luxury of choosing these films. So, from a personal point of view, I cannot complain."
Further adding to the debate, Sushant said, "Having said that, it's not that it is there and it's everywhere in all sorts of industry, not just Bollywood. If you allow new talents from outside also to flourish and encourage them more, then it's good. If you don't allow that, then there's a problem and I think the whole structure of industry would collapse."
Recently, Abhay Deol took to a social media platform to condemn celebrities who endorse fairness creams. This further led to a debate on the internet about celebrities promoting fairness obsession.
Addressing a question on the fairness endorsement debate, Sushant said, "As responsible actors and citizen, we should not prefer one skin tone over the other."
While the actor endorses a face wash brand, Sushant has not endorsed a fairness cream. And his statement rightly portrays his take on the ongoing fairness debate.
