Star India today announced one of the biggest projects titled, 'TED Talks India: Nayi Soch' is a global Hindi TV talk show. The talk show will feature speakers sharing big ideas in TED's signature format of short, powerful presentations of 18 minutes or less, which will be broadcasted on Star Plus later this summer
Shah Rukh Khan, who will host the show, will introduce each speaker and engage them in conversation like the TED CEO Chris Anderson does at the TED Galas. Shah Rukh Khan, who has come onboard as the host is very excited about the collaboration. The star said, "Star India's legacy of using television as an instrument of social change, and TED's unequivocal drive to showcase simple but unique ideas in an effort to spark debate and conversation are a very powerful combination."
Talking about the project, SRK further added, "I believe 'TED Talks India- Nayi Soch' will inspire many minds across India. It is a concept I connected with instantly, as I believe that the media is perhaps the single most powerful vehicle to inspire change. I am looking forward to working with TED and Star India, and truly hope that together, we are able to inspire young minds across India and the world."
When asked if SRK has seen TEDtalks, in an interview with DNA he revealed, “Oh, I love TEDTalks. I love anything that has to do with knowledge. I would like to be a speaker for them sometime, if I have something interesting to speak about, that is. I love the whole format, listening to it and learning from it. I am very glad that the channel and the TED team feels I’m good enough to do (host) it.”
In his conversation with DNA, the actor revealed that he had shot for the first episode, "It’s a televised version of TEDTalks. I have been made to understand that it’s something that has not been done before and they want to try out this concept. I feel it will be a niche show. We shot one episode and we are still doing a lot of focus screening because it’s something that should be done with love. So let’s see if we are able to pull it off. We will decide again after we check out one episode."
The show is all set to go on floors in the coming months and will air on Star Plus India. Shah Rukh has previously hosted various quiz shows on Indin television like 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' and 'Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hai?'.
