Filmmaker Siddharth Anand is soon to start work on his Indo-Chinese project for which he has roped in Chinese actor Deng Chao to play the lead. However, reports suggested that Siddharth was planning on to cast either Deepika Padukone or Priyanka Chopra for the female lead as they now have a good connect with the audience abroad.
Talking about the project, Siddharth spoke to Filmfare, and confirmed, “Yes, it’s a cross-cultural romance set in Beijing. I’m excited to explore and showcase another culture through this film. Our Chinese producers have suggested Deng Chao’s name but we will take a final call when I visit China.”
Reports further suggested that Deepika has outdone Priyanka, and has been finalised to play the lead. But Siddharth has not yet made any official announcement about the same. Talking about the film’s leading lady, Siddharth said, “The film will have an A-list actress who already has an international presence, so it could possibly be one of them.”
With no proper confirmation as yet, be it Deepika or Priyanka, both the actresses are phenomenal in their skill. And so, regardless of who bags the role, Deepika and Priyanka will be known for making India proud!
