'Padmavati' will be the third film post 'Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela' and 'Bajirao Mastani' that the actor-director duo, Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, will be seen collaborating for. Both, 'Ram-Leela' and 'Bajirao Mastani' have performed well at the Box Office, leaving the audience wanting for more.
And with magnum opus 'Padmavati' to hit theatres on November 17, the expectations of the audience is sky high. The film will see Deepika Padukone play the titular role, whereas Shahid Kapoor plays her husband Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer plays Allaudin Khilji. The grandeur of SLB's sets and costumes are rare in the industry.
With Ranveer's last two outings with SLB turning out to hit, one assumes that the actor is now feeling the pressure of delivering a hit with 'Padmavati' too. However, Ranveer feels otherwise. In an interview with IANS, the actor revealed, "When I try to describe the way he (Bhansali) is with actors, I run out of words. It’s truly inexplicable the way he manages to extract great performances from his actors. It’s just a gift that he has."
Calling him the greatest filmmaker of all times, Ranveer further added, "I truly regard him as one of the greatest filmmakers of Hindi cinema in all time. His form and flamboyance are unique to him and there are some things that only he can do."
Well, SLB and Ranveer do have a great actor-director relationship, and one cannot deny that Ranveer's career best performances include his portrayals in 'Ram-Leela' and 'Bajirao Mastani'.
