In the year 2008, things were looking not too good for Salman Khan, until he returned to the silver screen in 2009 with ‘Wanted’, which turned out to be a massive hit. Salman’s relaunch vehicle ‘Wanted’ was the remake of the super hit Telugu film ‘Pokiri’, which was directed by Puri Jagannadh. Puri later was also with the scripting and screenplay of the Hindi remake. It is since then that Puri and Salman have stayed in touch.
Puri recently wrote a script for an action-thriller with Bhai in mind, however, Salman’s schedule is a choc-a-block till 2017. The actor has asked the director to cast his protege Sooraj instead. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, “Salman already has a packed slate with back-to-back projects lined up till the end of 2017 and has no dates to spare. So he urged Puri to write a commercial line along the lines of Wanted for his protege Sooraj.”
Salman launched Sooraj opposite Athiya Shetty in Nikhil Advani’s ‘Hero’. Since then, Sooraj has only done a music video and is yet to sign his second Bollywood project. However, Salman and Sooraj’s equation translates beyond the screen as Sooraj is a constant fixture at all of Bhai’s parties, and was even seen partying with the Khandaan in Goa.
However, we hope that things work out in Sooraj’s favour and we get to see him on the screen soon!
