Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie ‘Padmavati’ went on floors earlier this month. The movie is starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor and it seems like Shahid, who will be sharing the screen space with Deepika for the first time, is extremely impressed with her.
He said, “There are so many actresses over the years who've been absolutely outstanding in their achievements, in their performances. Maybe Nargisji, Madhubala, Madhuri Dixit, Kajol -- or among the contemporaries, people like Deepika, Alia. There have been so many fantastic actors over the years, and one learns from seeing their performances. And one enjoys working with the contemporary lot."
There has been a lot of buzz around the movie. First, there was talk about Deepika refusing to pair up with a lesser known actor which resulted in Shahid being cast instead in the role. Then, there were reports that the script went through a lot of changes to make Shahid’s role more substantial, which in turn resulted in Ranveer’s role going through a lot of changes as well. This fact did not go down too well with Ranveer. Bhansali even tried to resolve these differences by inviting the two actors over for dinner, however, both declined the invitation.
The movie is scheduled to release in 2017, and apparently is going to be one of the grandest movies of Bollywood.
