Saif Ali Khan, who started the year with Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Rangoon', has his kitty full for the coming months. Since the release of 'Rangoon', Saif has wrapped up the shoot for Raja Krishna Menon's 'Chef' and Akshat Verma's 'Kalakaandi'. The actor also began the shooting for Nikkhil Advani's 'Baazaar' in May.
And now, according to reports, Saif is all set to play a warrior in Aanand L Rai’s untitled next, which is based on the battle of Buxar. The film will be helmed by Navdeep Singh, who has previously directed Anushka Sharma’s 'NH10'.
A source close to the development revealed, “Saif has heard the script and really liked it but is yet to sign on the dotted line. The film is currently in the pre-production stage and everything will be locked in a couple of months."
Talking about the project, Aanand L Rai's spokesperson said, “We’ll be happy to have Saif on board with this film. The talks are on and official announcements will follow soon.” It was the British East India Company's victory in The Battle of Buxar that helped them establish their footing in the country.
While we can expect the formal announcement regarding this project to be made soon, Aanand is currently busy shooting for his next with Shah Rukh Khan. The dwarf film starring Shah Rukh will see Salman Khan make a cameo appearance in the film
