Ram Gopal Varma has been making the headlines recently, but unfortunately, for all the wrong reasons. Whether it was him making misogynistic remarks on Sunny Leone on International Women’s Day or his highly offensive remarks on Tiger Shroff on his birthday, it seems the filmmaker is unapologetic about the sentiments he hurts.
(Also read: Ram Gopal Varma calls Tiger Shroff a ‘bikini babe’!)While he has launched many directors through his production house, Ram Gopal Varma is said to have fallen out with his protégés. Ask him if turning his production house into a filmmaking factory backfired with the quality of work getting compromised, he says, “I’m often criticised that I do too much too soon and I don’t concentrate, which isn’t true. Very often, I’ve gone by my instinct. I’ve made ‘Satya’ on my instinct. Films don’t work by planning. They are not about being careful. If something comes out well, it clicks. No matter what people say, I know I did my best at that point in time."
As for his protégés moving out and away, he has something interesting to say on that front as well. "I never fell in to fall out with them. I used people for myself as resources to make films. So the question of someone falling out doesn’t arise,” asserted the filmmaker before signing off.
On the work front, Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Sarkar 3’, starrig Amitabh Bachchan, Ronit Roy, Jackie Shroff, Manoj Bajpayee, Amit Sadh and Yami Gautam, is slated to hit the theatres on 12th May 2017.
