We all know that choosing the right career path can be really stressful. Of course, you wouldn't want to wake up one day only to realise that you don't like the 9-5 job you're at. While there are several people out there who will gladly tell you that you need to do what you love, here's why that doesn't really work out. These are somethings you need to keep in mind:
- First and foremost, it's very rare that people actually make a lot of money doing what they love.
- You can't expect to find success right from the beginning. There are a lot of sacrifices that you may have to make in terms of salary, location, title etc.
- Not everyone is always doing what they love all the time. You might be at a job that you wanted and then end up wondering if it would've been easier to just enter numbers into an excel sheet because then you would be earning way more than you do now.
- Once you take up a job that you love, certain factors might hinder you from loving it as much.
- You also need to remember that you cannot just choose your hobby as a career. You might enjoy dancing but that doesn't mean you drop everything and start auditioning for reality shows because you "might" be a good dancer.
Nothing in life comes without sacrifice. Where there is pleasure there will also be pain. But these dull moments make us realise the importance of those good moments. So, no matter what you do, remember to 'love what you do' because that's how you can truly achieve your goals.
