Often we hear people tell us that we need to listen to our body. And while we each take that message differently, have you ever stopped to think what it really means? Maybe you want to go for a run but you also want to eat a couple of cookies. So, what do you do? There are two types of feelings at work here. One feeling is that of your body and your core. The other is a surface psychology that is imprinted on top of it.
If you're still wondering which feeling you should listen to, the first thing to do is to stop, relax and get quiet. When your body feels something, it sends you messages, much like when you bang your foot on a table, you immediately reach out to squeeze it. So, when you're unsure of what you need to do with things, just relax, let yourself feel and then decide on what will be the best course of action for you.
To start with, you need to slow down. Sit down in one place and let your body do the thinking for you. The next step is to relax and take deep breaths. When you do some deep breathing, your body will loosen up and that will help you feel what you're supposed to feel as opposed to feeling stiff and tense. And finally, just give yourself some time. Let your body figure out what it wants and let it tell you. Stay tuned for more updates.
