To see Sanjay Dutt's life translate on the 70mm screen is surely going to be a delight for the viewers. Sanjay's biopic will trace his life from a young boy in the industry, his drug addiction, and also his tenure in jail. The film is helmed by director Rajkumar Hirani and will star Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay.
Sanjay is a difficult person to get into shoes of, and who better than Ranbir will know this. RK junior is undergoing preparations to play Sanjay on-screen, and even before he begins shooting for the film, there are rumours of a possible tiff between Ranbir and Sanjay. Reportedly, Sanjay thinks RK is a no match for his biopic. (

Later, there were reports that Sanjay had started ignoring Ranbir because the young actor wanted to spend time with him. But Sanjay didn't have more than half-an-hour in his day to spend with Ranbir. Sanjay also in an event said that he wasn't training Ranbir for the role and that Rajkumar Hirani will take care of it.
Recently at an event, director Rajkumar was questioned about the rumoured rift between Sanjay and Ranbir. To this Rajkumar replied, No, nothing like that. Ranbir often spends time with Sanju. He just said it as a joke while laughing. He softly jokes a lot." Rubbishing these rumours, Rajkumar assured that these were simply jokes that Sanjay has a habit of making.
The film is yet to go on floor as the makers have decided to begin shooting next year. The film is slated to have a Christmas release.
