Ajay Devgn has successfully proved that he is an actor, director, and a producer par excellence. 'Shivaay' may not have done very well at the box office, but none the less Ajay's directing skills have garnered praise in abundance. Now, one hears that the actor is gearing up for his next which will be a Malayalam remake of the film 'Oppam'.
The actor is currently shooting for Milan Lutharia's 'Badshaho', post which he will be all set to step into Mohanlal's shoes for the remake of the Malayalam blockbuster. 'Oppam' was the biggest blockbuster of the year, and was helmed by director Priyadarshan. According to a leading daily, Priyadarshan is looking at roping in Ajay to play the role of a blind lift operator who gets trapped in a murder case.
A source close to the daily revealed, "The last time both had worked together was in 'Aakrosh' (2010) and 'Tezz' (2012). Priyan had Akshay in mind for the role, but the actor is busy till 2018. He narrated the role to Ajay who has liked the script. He will play the protagonist and the role of a blind lift operator (played by Mohanlal in the Malayalam film). 'Oppam' had made more than Rs 50 crores at the Box Office. Interestingly, Ajay has acted in the Hindi remake of Mohanlal’s Malayalam hit 'Drishyam'."
'Oppam' has been a super hit in South, but will a remake manage to impress the Bollywood audiences?
