Harshavardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher’s debut film 'Mirzya' was touted as 'the dream' debut for both. Helmed by the eccentric director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the film failed to perform at the box-office even after all the hullabaloo around it. But Harshvardhan remained unaffected by the film’s failure, and instead took it in his stride.
In an earlier interview with MissKyra Harsh was asked about the failure of the film, to which he replied, “Every film has its own destiny. I feel ‘Mirzya’ is a work of art. It is a beautiful film, but it does not spell out things and you have to connect the dots. However, I am not deterred by this as this is the path that I've chosen. I am trying to create something because of which I will be proud forever, and 'Mirzya' is one of them.” He further added that 'Mirzya' didn’t appeal the universal audience as not all could understand the film. He maintained that the film’s concept was new to the audience.
While this was Harsh’s side of the story, MissKyra asked Saiyami Kher about her thoughts on his statement. She said, “Firstly, I haven’t heard Harshvardhan’s statement. But I feel the poor guy is always misinterpreted.” When further questioned on the film’s failure, Saiyami added, “I signed on the film with complete belief in it, and I still stand by it. The whole journey for me was so wonderful, and it was truly life changing! There is nothing I want to change. All I can do is perform better, and believe in the films I do in the near future.”
Both, Harsh and Saiyami have a positive response towards the failure of the film. On the work front, Harshvardhan has begun shooting for Bhavesh Joshi which is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. And Saiyami is still in talks but has nothing on the dotted lines.
