Hypertension is a lot more prevalent and a lot more common in people than you can imagine. 1 in 5 Indian adults is said to suffer from hypertension. And the worst part about it is that it has almost no symptoms which is why many people don't even know that they're suffering from this illness. This is also why it is known as the silent killer. So, on World Hypertension Day, here are some tips that will help you manage your stress and anxiety.
-Make sure to consume a healthy diet. Eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies, include proteins, legumes and fibres, opt for antioxidant-rich foods since these can all help keep your hypertension at bay. Remember, the healthier you eat, the healthier you'll be.
-Balance your work and hobbies. If you put too much pressure on yourself and only continue working all day long, eventually you're bound to get stressed and burned out. So learn to create a balance and also take out time to opt for some hobbies or activities that interest you.
-Set a routine and follow it as much as you can. Fix certain working hours for yourself, eat your meals at the proper time and go to bed at the right time too. Even though routines can seem boring, they help keep your life from falling into chaos.
-Stay hydrated by drinking the right amount of water throughout the day. Dehydration can also lead to spikes in hypertension and multiple other health problems. So, consume as much water as you can.
-Get some physical activity too. Even as little as 30 minutes a day can work wonders for your physical and mental health.
