It’s been over months now that India is still continuing its nationwide lockdown. As the schools and offices remain shuttered, even the busiest roads to the cities now look like leading to a ghost town. While we might have a little relaxation on the lockdown rules in days to come, we are only expecting to see things changing gradually during this pandemic due to COVID-19. It’s not difficult to predict that it’s still a long road to get back to our normal life. As we spend more and more time in isolation, stuck at home, new kinds of health problems have seemed to arise. One of them is ‘quarantine fatigue’.
While working from home with zero to only a little scope of physical activity, many people are now experiencing an abnormal uneasiness and tiredness at the end of the day. It can bring restlessness and frustration from not being able to step out like before.
Mental health can also add up to this kind of fatigue. Fear from the uncertainty of the present time can add stress leading to fatigue. This can also hamper the functioning of the body, mind, and lower down the productivity level of an individual.
To combat quarantine induced fatigue you must start from the basics. Make sure you’re getting an adequate amount of healthy diet, exercising at home, and getting undisturbed sleep. Try maintaining a schedule just like your pre-quarantine time but make sure you also include time for yourself to relax in the day-to-day schedule. Using different unhealthy methods for coping up, such as alcohol is only going to make it worse. Instead, stay connected with your loved ones even if they’re away from you. Remember, you must not force yourself for anything during this time. The global pandemic is not here forever. It might take some time to get over, but it’s going to be fine one day.
