Losing weight is certainly not an easy task. And keeping the lost weight off is even more difficult. These days we're all surrounded by fad diets. They claim to give you the results you want in hardly any time, but the question that arises is at what cost? Most of these diets may work well for you in the short term but in the long term, they're a lot more detrimental. So, what should you do if you've managed to lose weight, but
want to maintain your weight now? Here are some tips that will help.
Opt for a balanced diet: Of course, the very first thing you must opt for is a balanced diet. You must understand what works for you and what doesn't. Good carbs that contain fibres and resistant starch are always welcome, veggies and fruits packed with vitamins and nutrients should be consumed, healthy fats and proteins must be consumed and you must cut down on processed foods, unhealthy fats, sugary foods and excessive salt.
Get some amount of physical activity: You might already know that dieting and exercise go hand-in-hand. You can't opt for one without the other. Make sure to get at least 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per day. Now that you're in lockdown, you could just opt for some simple exercises at home, but if that's not your forte, you could also try something more entertaining like dancing.
Eat at the right time: Create an eating schedule for yourself and stick to the foods as well as the time at which you're supposed to consume those foods. You can't eat breakfast at 12 pm and then have lunch at 4 pm and expect it not to upset your entire wellbeing. The same can be said for those mindless 2 am snacks. Eat only during a brief period and don't upset your schedule.
Don't let triggers mess up your diet: Sometimes we end up binge-eating due to certain triggers. Make sure to avoid that as much as possible or else you'll just end up gaining all those kilos you worked so hard to lose.
What you must understand is that dieting needs to be long-term. You must make sure that your diet is balanced, healthy and tasty enough for you to stick to it continuously. Remember these tips and stay tuned for more updates.
