The holy and prosperous day of Eid Al-Fitr is finally upon us. Muslims observe this festival after 30 days of fasting which is known as Ramadan. It essentially marks the ending of the holy month of Ramadan. And while the festival itself gets people together to celebrate, pray and rejoice, what it also offers are some amazing delicacies that people wait for all year to try. So, this Eid, although you may not be able to celebrate the festival with all your loved ones, you most certainly can try these sweet dishes at home.
Phirni - Simple words cannot define the deliciousness of Phirni. You must try it for yourself to experience how amazing it tastes. Made out of ground rice and milk, this delicacy is often flavoured with rosewater and cardamom and topped with a variety of chopped nuts. Try it and you'll never want to stop eating it.
Sheer Khurma - Now, this is the most traditional sweet dish prepared on Eid. It is made using a whole lot of milk, sugar, thin vermicelli and is flavoured with some dried fruits and nuts. This is also often the very first dish to be consumed on the day of Eid.
Shahi Tukda - Yet another fantastic dessert, this one is also referred to as Double ka Meetha down south. Made by frying slices of bread and then dipping them in condensed milk, it is also topped with nuts and dry fruits with slight hints of cardamom. If you've got a sweet tooth you'll absolutely love this one.
