If you’re skincare monger who’s been binge drinking cocktails on their very sight at the bar then by now you must have noticed that your acne-friendly beauty routine is clearly not working. This is because there exists a link between your thirsty nights and your skin. Alcohol does no good for your body and your skin if you have not realised yet. Making your body dehydrated in the next day after drinking, alcohol cans trip off natural oil’s from your skin leading to dry skin, adult acne, signs of ageing and sensitivity of the skin.
Alcohol can dehydrate the body tissues and the skin. This means dry skin which is more vulnerable to wrinkles, fine lines and other signs of ageing. Not to forget, dry skin can also lead to breakouts among adults.
Alcohol tends to dilate the pores of the skin causing obnoxious blackheads and whiteheads. In the long run, this can cause adult acne and inflammations on the skin.
As alcohol can mess up with your sleep cycle, it can also slow down the body’s rejuvenation process and the renewal of cells. This can disrupt the cellular turnover of the skin and cause a dull-looking skin complexion with clogged pores.
The kind of alcohol you drink and how often you consume also determines the rate of damage to the skin. A glass of wine might give you that instant blush effect but it will also cause you to wake up with a severely dehydrated skin that requires extra care.
