Wouldn’t you like to consume a yummy dish that helps you lose weight? We know, we would! Don’t you worry. This isn’t just a fad. It isn’t the eat-this-one-thing-only type of a diet either. So if you got stubborn fat that refuses to move despite your constant effort, here’s something that you would gladly welcome.
Cucumber is a wonderful ingredient especially if you’re trying to shed some kilos. It is a powerhouse of many essential vitamins, minerals and electrolytes. As per Health Practitioner, Nutritionist and certified Macrobiotic Health Coach, Shilpa Arora, cucumber is rich in nutrients like vitamin K, vitamin C, phosphorus, B-6, riboflavin, magnesium, folate, calcium and zinc. Dr. Anju Sood, a Bangalore-based Nutritionist says "the high amount of antioxidants and low amount of calories in cucumber boosts metabolism and results in multiple health benefits that includes weight loss." Cucumbers are also rich in fibre that keeps you satiated for long without adding extra calories to your diet, further keeping untimely hunger pangs at bay. Moreover, the low-fat and low-calorie properties of cucumber make it ideal for weight loss.
A cold soup that you can easily be prepared at home every day, this cucumber soup can be a complete wholesome meal that is perfect to give your weight loss regime a boost. Packed with the goodness of yogurt, cucumber, fennel, water and a tang of lime blended together, this cold soup recipe is one of the best ones to prepare this season. It will not only boost metabolism and aid weight loss but will also keep you hydrated all day long. The addition of fennel with cucumber in this soup doubles the health benefits since fennel is known to have better nutrient absorbing properties from food that helps in quick digestion, better metabolism and weight loss.
This cold soup only takes 10 minutes to make! Begin by peeling and chop the cucumbers, roughly, if you like, scrape off the seeds but I usually keep them in because I like the texture.
Blend everything in the blender, then season and cool. If you find the texture to be too thick, then add a little cold water to make the consistency as thin as you like. Done!

• To posh it up, you can serve this with garlic bread or croutons. For croutons, take any old bread, brush on both sides with olive oil, then slice into cubes. Toast (or fry, for a truly decadent version) them until crisp, then scatter over the soup just before serving. The truly health-conscious may even omit entirely the olive oil step.
