Back in the olden days, people just made do with regular, good old soaps. After all, shower gels didn't exist back then. Then again, soaps back in the day used to cost a mere 10Rs and now you'll find them ranging anywhere between Rs40-Rs600 (we wish we were kidding!). It's bad enough that these soaps could cause a hole in your pocket with their prices but what's worse is that they don't even last as long as they should. So, why not get rid of this problem completely by opting for soaps that you can make at home? Here are a few DIY soap recipes that you're absolutely going to love.
02/20DIY Epsom salt soap
Epsom salts are great when it comes to relieving muscle aches and soreness. For this one, you'll need Epsom salt, Melt and pour soap base, Soap colourant, Essential or scented oil, Spray alcohol and Simple bar soap moulds. Mix the ingredients, pour into moulds and let your soap set!
03/20DIY Coconut Shea Butter Soap
If you're looking for a luxurious soap that will leave your skin feeling smooth and soft, you've found it! For this one, you'll need 6 cubes Shea Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base, 15 drops of Coconut Soap Fragrance and 1 soap mould. Mix the ingredients, pour into mould and let it set.
04/20DIY soapsicle
This one is rather great for kids too! You'll need 1 bar clear glycerine soap, candy-coloured soap colourants and popsicle moulds. Mix the glycerine soap and colourant together and then pour accordingly into the mould. Once it sets your soap is ready to use!

Have sensitive skin? Give this DIY soap a try. To make this soap, you will need oats, honey, almonds, vitamin E and sweet almond oil. The oatmeal has a soothing effect on your skin. This soap's aroma can also help put you in a relaxed state of mind.

06/20DIY Milk and honey soap
Want something that'll restore your skin's glow? This is the soap to opt for. You'll need goat's milk, raw honey and yellow and red soap colourant. Mix all the ingredients well and then pour it into a mould. Once done, let it settle and take shape. Your soap is ready to use.

If you've got some stale spare walnuts lying around, put them to good use by mixing them into your soap. For this one, you'll need Canola, coconut, olive, safflower, and sunflower oil, Lye, Milk, Honey and of course, walnuts. Mix everything well and pour into the mould to set. You'll end up with a fabulous exfoliating soap.
08/20Makeup soap
For this one, you'll need Palm oil and palm kernel oil; Coconut, olive, castor, soybean, and sunflower oil; Cocoa butter, Lye, Green tea, Steeped green tea leaves, Eucalyptus and lemongrass essential oil. Mix all the ingredients well, pour into a mould and voila! Your soap is ready to use.
09/20Poppy seeds soap
For this nourishing and moisturising soap, you'll need Coconut, canola, and castor oil, Tallow, Litsea cubeba and orange essential oil and Poppy seeds. Mix all the ingredients well. You can even sprinkle some seeds from the top for added beauty. Let it set and your soap is ready.

Want the perfect combination of body butter and cleanser? Try out this soap recipe. You'll need Lard, Coconut, olive, and castor oil, Cocoa and shea butter, Lye, Water, Essential oil, Gold and brown mica. Mix all the ingredients well and pour into a mould to set. Voila! Your soap is ready to use.
