In 1994, eighteen-year-old Sushmita Sen was crowned Miss Universe at the glittering finale in Manila, Philippines. 22 years later, the former beauty queen returned to Manila, this time to judge the pageant that had then changed her life forever.
While in Manila, Sushmita made an appearance on the popular Filipino talk show ‘Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’, where she spoke about how she has always been a deep person who has been analysing things from a very early age. She said although she knew the essence of a woman even at the early age of 18, it took her many years to really understand the meaning behind what she had said on that night that changed everything.
However, what Sushmita didn’t know was that a big surprise was in store for her. The host of the show, Jessica Soho, introduced the actress to four girls who were born in the same year she won the pageant and had been named after her!
Absolutely shocked, it took some time before Sushmita could let this sink in. Overwhelmed by emotions, she hugged all four of them and sent her love and regards to their parents for such an honour.
Before bidding goodbye, she even recreated her iconic reaction on being announced the winner with all the four ‘Sushmitas’.
