Raees has recently been in news for all the wrong reasons- first, it was the film’s subject that became a matter of concern, and then the Pakistani artiste ban that made it difficult for Mahira Khan to finish shooting for the film. Dubbed as SRK's ambitious project that would skyrocket his dwindling career, Raees is stuck. The film though has no political pressure in regards to the actress SRK now sees himself in trouble instead.
The film, Raees, is apparently based on the life of Abdul Latif, a gangster in Gujarat who ran the illicit liquor business during the 90s when liquor was otherwise prohibited in the state. Abdul Latif has allegedly murdered over 40 people and has various other cases filed against him. So when Shah Rukh was to begin shooting for the film, the actor visited Gujarat to meet his son, Mustak Ahmed Abdul Latif Shaikh for an understanding of his character in the film. Mustak was actively involved in making the film and provided insights and inputs for SRK to portray the character well in s
But recently, Mustak has filed a case against Shah Rukh Khan and has demanded a certain amount (which is apparently 10 crores) to allow the makers to release the film. Shah Rukh visited Mustak’s house on his insisting. However, his meetings with Mustak were being termed as political because of which Shah Rukh decided to distance himself. When Mustak sent out another invite to the star, SRK did not respond which apparently is the reason that irked Mustak. And now he has sent a legal notice to the star to pay him the requested for the smooth release of the film.
Well with so many road blocks already, we wonder if Raees is going a film worth the hype. And while we can make nothing out of the issues faced by the film, we only wish that the film finally sees a smooth release.
