Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was recently spotted in the capital for a store launch. The actress looked ethereal in a blue Manish Malhotra creation, as she attended the store launch of her long-term brand associate, Longines. In an interview with NDTV, the actress opened up about her role in ADHM, her film commitments, the pay disparity in Bollywood and her little munchkin, Aaradhaya.
When asked about her role in 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', she said, "Karan and I really worked on Saba. She is a poet, her grace and how she speaks were aspects we worked upon." On being further asked about similarities between her and Saba, the actress kept everyone guessing as she said, "That's for me to know and you guys to wonder."
On being prodded about her next with Shah Rukh Khan, which is to be directed by Karan Johar, Aishwarya said, "That's all speculation. I am still reading scripts you will know as and when. I like to surprise."
Aishwarya, who is truly a global icon, on being questioned about the pay parity in Hollywood and Bollywood alike said that all she is heard is talk and no action. The actress expounded saying, "All I want to say is let people do what they want to do and choices they want to make. Maybe I am walking a fine line here. All I hear is talk but no action and that's an accumulative effort by everyone involved including those talking. These discussions can go on and on and they are important. I am not disrespecting all the talk that goes around these subjects but at the end of the day have the guts to make those choices. Many talk about it but then when time comes, they take a safe, comfortable route and then make the choice that's a paradox and one defeats the other so let's put words to action."
When asked what is next on her agenda, the actress replied that she is busy planning Aaradhya's fifth birthday party!
