The famous comedy collective, AIB's latest podcast is out, and it is all that you would've expected, and then a little more. Shah Rukh Khan, who has been out and about for the promotions of his latest, 'Raees' gets candid in one of his most politically correct interviews.
Here are seven of the best moments from the AIB podcast featuring Shah Rukh Khan:
The much-awaited FIFA night
The podcast opens with Tanmay Bhat talking about the night they hung out with SRK, and how he invited them to come over the next day to play FIFA. While the two comedians thought that SRK did want them to come over the next day, the invitation never actually came through! When Tanmay confronted him about the same, SRK in a tongue-in-cheek manner replied, “You really thought I was going to call you next day for FIFA?”!”
SRK's most politically correct interview. EVER!During the course of the interview, SRK revealed that today there is a constant need to be correct. Fearing that his name might get dragged unnecessarily into a controversy, SRK maintained that this interview will be a politically correct one!
Talking about controversies, SRK said that he does not get the need to comment on every issue. The actor added that earlier he would wake up all excited and jumpy but now when he wakes up and reaches for his phone, he is worried about what new controversy is out there about him for opening up (or he not opening up) on something.
However, SRK also had the best solution to dodge controversy. The actor added, "One day I have decided that I will take seven days off and click selfies with anyone who has a mouth to speak and fingers to type with. Then, I will be the most powerful man in the country."
On Meryl Streep's iconic speech
Much has been written and spoken about the
Meryl Streep speech at the Golden Globes. In fact, SRK has also spoken about the
how journalists put unnecessary pressure on celebrities to talk about various unnecessary issues. However, talking about why has he never given a speech like that of Meryl Streep, SRK said, “Kya hua na is baar Filmfare Award nahi mila…milta to yahi speech deta. Jab sala award hi nahi milega toh speech kaise dunga”.
When SRK compared 'Fan' with AIB's 'Roast'
Talking about the infamous AIB roast, SRK said that he was glad that AIB's roast faced the fate that it did, and he took comfort in the fact that roast was the end of AIB's career. Joking about it, SRK commented, “The Roast was your ‘Fan'."
SRK on doing advertisements
Talking about the cheap thrills that he enjoys, SRK spoke of the time when a couple of business heads tried to teach Shah Rukh how to act for a biscuit advertisement he was shooting for.
Shah Rukh revealed that a couple, who were extremely attached to the biscuit walked up to him and advised him to bring out "the feeling of homeliness, the feeling of years gone by, the feeling of who you are and the achievements you have done in that one bite," while shooting for the ad. SRK could not resist goofing around with them and asked them to keep on encouraging him while he shot for the ad!
About dancing at weddingsDuring the course of the interview, Tanmay asked SRK about how does it feel to be dancing at weddings, and did he ever feel that he was stealing away the spotlight from the bride and groom? To which SRK said, "I mean…they should be happy I’m not stealing the bride away!"
Before concluding the interview, SRK said that he and AIB should get along to perform together at the wedding, to which pat came the reply from Rohan, "just like the FIFA night!"
