'Kaneda' is going to be Anushka Sharma's third production venture, and will be directed by Navdeep Singh of the 'NH10' fame. The film rolls out after Anushka completes shooting for 'Phillauri' alongside Diljit Dosanjh. Post that the actress plans to start shooting for 'Kaneda' for which Arjun Kapoor has been roped in to play the lead, of which Diljit is also a part. With the film yet to go on floors, there was hearsay that Arjun has opted out of the project because he was unhappy with his part.
However, director Navdeep rubbished these rumours and said, "Anushka, Arjun and Diljit Dosanjh are the leads of Kaneda. Anushka and I want to make this the best possible film with the resources on hand. Arjun and Diljit fit their parts well and the characters they play are unlike anything they have done before."
The cast was to begin shooting for the film in March, but Navdeep confirms that they are behind schedule and the film will now only roll out by mid-year. Navdeep said, "It’ll probably roll by mid-year and will be shot entirely in Canada in a start-to-finish, in one long schedule."
With Arjun now very much a part of the film, it will be rather interesting to see a fresh pairing of Anushka and Arjun on screen.
