Nepotism has been the talk of the town ever since Kangana Ranaut first used the word against Karan Johar and called him a flag-bearer of it, on his show ‘Koffee with Karan’. Another such word that constantly resurfaces and haunts the dreams of stars, is dynasty. But Bollywood stars aren't the only ones who have to deal with these terms. A lot of politicians also have to constantly answer questions about their dynasty. Amongst those politicians is Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi.
While speaking at a press conference in Berkeley, USA, Rahul decided to include Abhishek Bachchan while talking about the term dynasty. He reportedly said, “Most parties in India have that problem…Mr Akhilesh Yadav is a dynast. Mr Stalin (son of M Karunanidhi of DMK) is a dynast… even Abhishek Bachchan is a dynast. So, that’s how India runs. So, don’t get after me because that’s how India is run. By the way, last, I recall, Ambanis are running the business. That’s also going on in Infosys. So, that’s what happens in India.”
This apparently did not go down well with famous Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor. Following Rahul's comments, Rishi went on a rant against him on twitter. He highlighted the fact that the Kapoors have been in the industry for 90 years and that four generations of their family have survived in Bollywood, purely on merit. He also added that Gandhi shouldn't give 'bullsh*t' on dynasty and that he should earn people's respect through hard work. Here are the tweets:
