The news about Ranbir Kapoor signing on a film to be directed by good friend Ayan Mukerji started doing rounds last year. The film, tentatively titled 'Dragon', was to go on floors by January this year. However, reports later suggested that Ranbir will start shooting for the film after he completes filming for Sanjay Dutt's biopic.
The film will see the actor play a superhero, and will also star Alia Bhatt alongside Ranbir. This will be the first that Ranbir will be seen in a sci-fi film playing a superhero. There were further reports that suggest Amitabh Bachchan too will be a part of the film. But, the film is now delayed and apparently it is because the film demands an expensive budget.
A source close to a leading daily revealed, "It’s a very expensive film and will require a lot of high-octane action and VFX for which the budget has shot up. Ranbir was to start shooting for it from January this year, but as the film got postponed, he gave his dates away to the Sanjay Dutt biopic."
Well, post 'Jagga Jasoos', 'Dragon' is Ranbir's yet another ambitious project that got delayed.
