On Thursday the makers of the film ‘Hichki’ had announced that the release date of the film will be shifted from 23rd February to 23rd March. The decision was taken keeping in mind the audience will come post the exam period. So everyone has to wait for a little longer maybe to watch Rani Mukerji’ come back to the silver screen. The decision was taken reportedly, as to make the disadvantages into opportunities.
Aditya Chopra stated that the marketing and the distribution team had decided and the film needs a little late release so that it can gain more audience post the exams.
Maneesh Sharma said, “The multiple screenings of ‘Hichki’ saw outstanding reactions. The audience in attendance has called it one of the best content-driven and heartwarming movies to ever come out of YRF. So naturally, the reaction of the team is that does ‘Hichki’ currently have the best release date to get an extended run in cinemas across India.”
He further added, “The YRF team decided that 23 March 2018 is the best release date for ‘Hichki’, especially given the post-exam scenario for students and families - the most relevant target audience for this film.”
The film will mark Rani Mukerji’s comeback to the silver screen. She will play the role of Naina Mathur, who has a nervous system disorder, Tourette Syndrome.
