It was just yesterday that we brought to you the news that Amitabh Bachchan had threatened to leave Twitter because he figured out that the techies at the Twitter headquarters reduced his followers. Big B even took to the social media platform to voice his thoughts and his tweet read, “T 2599 – TWITTER ..!!!?? you reduced my number of followers .. !!??HAHAHAHAHAHAHA .. !! that's a joke .. time to get off from you .. thank you for the ride .. 😠😠😠 .. there are many ‘other’ fish in the sea – and a lot more exciting !! (sic)." Post which, twitteratis went beserk and posted that after Bachchan losing his followers, Shah Rukh Khan became the most followed celebrity with a good 32,939,375 followers as compared to Big B's 39,901,349.
However, as reported by a leading entertainment portal, Big B wasn't the only celebrity who had lost a good chunk of his followers. “More than a million followers have disappeared from the accounts of dozens of prominent Twitter users in recent days as the company faces growing criticism over the proliferation of fake accounts and scrutiny from federal and state inquiries into the shadowy firms that sell fake followers. The people losing followers include an array of entertainers, entrepreneurs, athletes and media figures, many of whom bought Twitter followers or artificial engagement from a company called Devumi," as reported by a leading international daily.
