The stories of an alleged fallout between Kapil Sharma and his 'The Kapil Sharma Show' co-star, Sunil Grover have been doing rounds for quite some time now. Even though both the comics have never publicly commented about the spat, the tensions between the two have been on a high for a while now and recently reached a flash point.
Kapil, who recently along with his team was performing in Australia, got into an altercation with Sunil Grover on the flight back. The reports suggest that a drunk Kapil Sharma not only verbally, but also physically assaulted his 'TKSS' co-star Sunil Grover.
An eye-witness from the flight recalled, "Without any provocation, Kapil pounced on Sunil Grover. We saw Kapil loudly abusing Sunil. Sunil kept quiet, probably thinking that Kapil would calm down after the outburst. But Kapil got more aggressive. His loud abuses could be heard right across the flight cabin. He then physically assaulted Sunil. That’s when all hell broke loose. The flight attendants rushed to the spot. They wanted to handcuff Kapil in order to restrain him. To his credit, Sunil stood by his unruly colleague and asked the cabin crew to overlook his drunken behaviour."
While Sunil Grover refused to comment on the issue, sources from the set revealed that the actor is done with Kapil's behaviour and has decided to quit the show. The source revealed, "Sunil is not coming back on The Kapil Sharma Show. He had already recorded the episodes for this weekend (March 18-19) . But he is not returning to the show. Abb bahot ho gaya. Agar Kapil ka yehi rawaiya raha toh aur log bhi nikal jayenge.”
However, the source further added, "Kapil is not a bad soul. But once he downs a few pegs he forgets who he is and starts reminding everyone around him how insignificant they are as compared with him."
When reached out to Kapil to comment on the issue, the comic in his trademark style said, "Mujhe yaad nahi (I don’t remember). Actually hamari har flight main ladai hoti hai (We fight on every flight)…har jagah ladai hoti hai (We fight everywhere)…It is a healthy fight…We fight for work…We fight for good work.”
