Looks like some celebrities take the saying “any publicity is good publicity” way too seriously and end up getting slammed by the media or netizens. The most recent celebrity who had to face the public flak was Jawd Habib, famous celebrity hair stylist. Jawed recently faced a lot of backlash and got trolled on social media after he put out a print ad featuring Hindu gods who were enjoying humanely perks like mortals in his salon.
Soon after the ad came out, he was criticized immensely on the social media platforms for hurting the religious sentiments of the masses. The ad features different gods and goddesses getting facials and haircuts at a Jawed Habib salon, which obviously did not go down well with the audience. People were quite vocal about their opinions and also insinuated physical harm to the stylist.
The moment Jawed realised his mistake he immediately posted an apology for hurting people's religious sentiments. He also put up a video wherein he clarified that he had nothing to do with the ad and that it was put up by a partner who hadn't taken his permission before doing so. He also said that he isn't inclined towards any religion in particular and that he would never purposely hurt anybody's sentiments.
He also issued an official apology to the Hindu Ashram, Mumbai and claimed that the ad was posted without his approval. He cited that it was, in fact, a local publication in West Bengal that published the ad without his consent.
Apart from apologising to the people he also wished everyone a "Happy Durga Pooja"
