While Sanjay Dutt looks like a towering strong man that nobody in their right senses would want to mess with, he sure has always been his father, late legendary actor Sunil Dutt’s little boy. Sanjay recently recalled an incident when he received a sound thrashing from his father because he was caught smoking.
“My father had caught me smoking in the bathroom. He took me inside the room, and thrashed me. I know I need to stop smoking. I will attempt it once again, soon,” revealed Sanjay. He further said that his father had always taught him to treat men and women equally. Due to this learning, he said that during his tenure in prison, he would not talk to a prisoner if he found out that he had been accused of rape. “Women are symbols of Goddess Durga and Laxmi. When we pray to them, how on earth can anyone behave in such a manner with them? So when I got a chance to work in ‘Bhoomi’, I was more than happy to be a part of the film,” asserted the actor.
Being a father himself, while he admitted that he isn’t very strict with his children, there is one thing that doesn’t go down too well with him – the idea of sleepovers. “I do not like children seeking permission or wishing to spend the nights with their friends in their homes. You have the duration of the entire day to bond with your friends. Then why spend nights together? This is one thing I detest to the core.”
On the work front, ‘Bhoomi’ will mark Sanjay’s comeback on the silver screen post his release from prison. Helmed by Omung Kumar and co-starring Aditi Rao Hydari, the movie will hit the theatres on 22
nd September.
