Varun Dhawan worked with dad David Dhawan last when he starred in 'Main Tera Hero' in 2014, and it's been three years since. And now, the father-son duo is back with 'Judwaa 2', a sequel to David Dhawan directorial 'Judwaa' that starred Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Rambha. The ace director has dabbled in the comedy genre like no one else and delivered hits with actors like Govinda and Salman.
However, with a career span of nearly three decades, the filmmaker now only plans to make films with his son Varun. David Dhawan is currently shooting for 'Judwaa 2', and talking to a leading tabloid said, "Varun and Rohit often ask me to relax, but my passion for cinema keeps me going. I have always made entertaining films that the common man enjoys. After doing 'Main Tera Hero', Varun realised that he enjoys my kind of cinema. He said he wouldn’t do this genre [comedy] with anyone else. I will only work with him now."
When the tabloid further asked if the filmmaker was feeling any pressure to deliver a hit, David Dhawan opined, "If I think of all that, I will never be able to make a film. I am making this movie for myself. On the sets, we don’t have a formal equation. We are friends. There are times when he corrects me, in fact."
Not only the father-son duo is a riot when together, David Dhawan admits that he is indeed proud of Varun. "In such a short span, he has shown his versatility and achieved success. This is because of his dedication towards the craft. I never thought he wanted to become an actor. It was just two years before he did 'Student Of The Year' that he told me about his dream," added the father of two creatively talented sons.
