Deepika Padukone whose last onscreen outing, ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ went on to become the biggest success of 2017, currently has her hands full with ‘Padmavati’. And while there were reports that the actress is in talks with Aanand L Rai for his upcoming venture, industry hearsay is that the actress had to pull out of the project.
Apparently, the actress had to turn down the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer owing to date issues. A source close to the development revealed, “While Deepika was quite keen on doing the film, unfortunately, her dates were clashing with those allotted to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’. Since she has already committed her dates to SLB’s historical, she has had to say no to Aanand L Rai.”
Deepika Padukone made her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Om Shanti Om’ and has since acted with the actor in hit films like ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Happy New Year’.
For the first time in his 25 years long career, Shah Rukh will be seen playing a dwarf in Aanand L Rai’s next. The project is expected to go on floors soon and will be shot over a period of six months. Deepika, who is currently on a break, will soon resume shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ in Mumbai.
