Post Kangana Ranaut called Karan Johar the flag bearer of nepotism on his chat show 'Koffee With Karan', there was a whole mud-slinging that followed after this controversial statement. Kangana and Karan, both spoke to the media largely about the statement making the situation further worse by washing their dirty linens in public.
However, post the situation elevated, many other actors were asked to shared their opinions on whether there is nepotism in the Bollywood industry. Sonam Kapoor called the public spat between Kangana and Karan a good bathroom read, whereas Anushka Sharma believes that to each its own.
When asked about nepotism, Anushka said, "We all have different journeys and different experiences and I am sure the actors sitting next to me on the stage will agree on this part. Aditya Chopra gave me my launchpad."
Anushka further added, "Yes, I am an outsider and he launched me in a big film. Similarly, he has launched Ranveer Singh and Parineeti Chopra and us three are completely from a non-filmy background. Going by my experience, I have a lot of respect for Aditya Chopra because he gave a platform to the actors and I have personally never experienced it [nepotism]. For me, things changed after 'Band Baaja Baaraat' and then people started taking me seriously and that film literally changed my life."
"After this, I understood that if you are doing well here, people would want to work with you and if you are not putting your 100%, people would not work with you be it anything. In this industry, people take business decisions," said the 'Phillauri' actress before signing off.
