Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Shahid Kapoor starrer 'Padmavati' has hit another roadblock. The makers had built a set in Kolhapur which was set on fire on Tuesday night. While no crew member was present on the sets, the animals present on sets got injured due to the fire.
Around 40-50 people armed with petrol bombs, stones and lathis reached the sets of the film at around 10:30 in the night and allegedly fought off the security who were present at the sets. In the light of the acts of vandalism that took place during the Jaipur schedule, the security was beefed on the sets. However, not only did the protestors burn down the set, they also damaged the cars parked around the sets.
Confirming the news to Pinkvilla, Shobha Sant, CEO Bhansali Productions said, "A few people entered and had put the set on fire in the early morning hours. The main cast wasn't present at that time. However, our costumes are completely damaged."
While she also further added that a complaint will be filed against the act, an official statement by Bhansali productions states, "Filed a complaint against miscreants who vandalised our costume & jewellery and set it on fire Padmavati. No loss of life, no one seriously hurt on vandalised shoot of Padmavati."
