Rumour mills are abuzz with the reports of Anil Kapoor and son Harshvardhan Kapoor all set to share screen space for the first time. Reportedly, the Anil will play reel life father to real life son Harshvardhan in Abhinav Bindra's biopic. However, the father-son duo shares a very different equation in real life.
While Harsh is an introvert, father Anil is an extrovert. Talking about the stark difference in their personalities, Anil and Harsh opened up to a leading magazine about their relationship. When asked about their different personalities, Anil said, "There’s a big difference between a regular father and son relationship and a father and son who are actors. I named him Harshvardhan because I never wanted him to be like me. We could’ve kept it Harsh Kapoor but I thought, 'Let’s name him Harsh-Vardhan so that Kapoor isn’t his only identity'."
When asked if Harsh tries hard to match up with his father's stardom, the actor adds, "I’m still so new; people haven’t seen enough of me. But, nobody is making the choices that I am at my age. Some actors say, 'I want to be the biggest star in the country' That’s not my aim."
When asked Anil about the equation he shared with his father, Anil said, "We had a communication gap. What I couldn’t achieve with my father, I wanted with my children... I’m friends with them."
Anil is a father to three successful children - Sonam Kapoor, Harshvardhan Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor. When asked if he shares a different relationship with the three of them, Anil concluded saying, "Rhea and Harsh are like equals. With Sonam, there’s a communication gap, maybe because we’re similar. We connect emotionally, but we can’t sit and talk for hours."
