Alia Bhatt is currently basking in the success of her last onscreen outing, 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' and is enjoying some much-deserved quality time. While Alia's next film, 'Dragon' is all set to go on floors in August, reports are that Alia has turned down Aamir Khan's 'Thugs of Hindostan'.
Industry hearsay suggests that despite Aamir personally requesting the actress to be a part of his upcoming movie, Alia has turned down the offer. The 'Udta Punjab' actress has apparently refused the part as the role offered to her does not hold much importance in the movie.
A source close to the development informed, "Alia would love to work with Aamir. Who wouldn't? But not in a film where the heroine has so little to do. The heroine's role in Thugs Of Hindostan is underdeveloped and undernourished. In fact, Hrithik Roshan (earlier considered for the film) told Adi Chopra that the girl's role needs to be reworked and Adi agreed. But in the minute Aamir showed interest in the project, Hrithik was dropped and the heroine's role remained the same."
Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, 'Thugs of Hindostan' is a historical magnum opus starring Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. While Alia has turned down the part, actresses like Shraddha Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor are being considered for the same.
