Ajay Devgn: If you can stick to reality, making a biopic should not be an issue
Although biopics are usually made to celebrate the victory and valour of the protagonists, often historical figures become a controversial topic to make a film on
Miss Kyra | Mar 6, 2018, 11:14 ISTNow is the time for biopics in Bollywood. Most filmmakers these days are trying to come up with films that are based on real people or events. Although biopics are usually made to celebrate the victory and valour of the protagonists, often historical figures become a controversial topic to make a film on. After Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmaavat' attracted the wrath of fringe groups, Kangana Ranaut's film 'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi' had also been making the headlines for "historically tampering" with facts. Now, Ajay Devgn is said to be working on a biopic on Tanaji Malusare, a general in Chatrapati Shivaji's army.
After all the chaos that has occurred with the other films, Ajay is being extra precautious. Ajay said that if his team sticks to all the historical facts there won't be any interference from political groups. "If you can stick to reality, making a biopic should not be an issue," he said. "If one is willing to sit across the table and discuss concerns, both parties can arrive at a solution. Nobody likes to be associated with controversies, and it isn't a good situation that the industry finds itself in, but such matters can be handled," he concluded. Stay tuned for more updates.
