Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty's dad, Veerappa Shetty passed away on late Tuesday at the age of 93. Suniel's father, Veerappa Shetty was admitted in Breach Candy hospital and was not keeping well for some time now. According to reports, Veerappa Shetty's funeral is all set to take place tomorrow.
Suniel's father had in the year 2013 suffered a massive paralytic stroke. Around the same time, Suniel's daughter Athiya was preparing for her debut, but the actor chose to remain by his father's side. Speaking of the turbulent times, Suniel in a 2014 interview had said, "I haven’t had a proper night’s sleep for three months now. It’s a very mixed kind of feeling for me. On one hand, my daughter Athiya is getting ready for her film career. On the other hand, my father is very unwell. So the excitement of Athiya’s debut is sadly diminished. At the moment we’re all focusing on looking after my father."
Suniel has always maintained that his father is his real hero and of utmost importance to him. The actor who also owns a showroom in Worli at the launch of same in an interview with HT had said, "This is where my father, Veerappa Shetty, used to work. He used to clean plates here since he worked as a waiting boy at a restaurant. My father is my real hero. He started working at the age of nine. He used to sleep on flattened mustard sacks and used a rolled-up gunny bag as a pillow.”
Suniel has always maintained that his father is his real hero and of utmost importance to him. Veerapa Shetty is survived by his wife, son Suniel and daughter Sujata.
