Dr Kedar Tilwe, Consultant Psychiatrist, Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences, Fortis Health Care has said, “Working from home has its fair share of advantages. Improvement in work-life balance, more family time and most importantly no time lost in travelling and traffic jams!”
But while it might look all glitter and gold in the beginning, it might get monotonous and also add up to your mental health. That's true. We often think that office life can give us more stress, but in reality, it is working from home which stresses us more. It leaves us feeling alone, doesn't give us a very professional feeling and basically puts us in an awful mood on a daily basis. And when all of it combines, you wouldn't even have any office people to vent out to since you're not surrounded by them for them to understand what you're actually going through.
Instead, take work from home as a privilege and not a punishment. Utilize it only when needed. Dress up a little even if you work from home. Getting all decked up can bring you an instant uplift to your mood. Stick to the official working hours while you're working from home and not keep the work hanging till the end of the day. If it's possible, try and meet your office colleagues whenever you can in order to catch up with what's all cooking in the office while you can share some insight on how working from home feels like.
