Alima Pure or Jane Iredale pencils work well because they smudge well, according to Blades. However, a liquid liner will also work if that is what you prefer. This is the most crucial part of achieving the smokey eye look. Use a contour brush ( try Alima Pure) that has fat bristles and is more round. Add a dark colour to the brush. Make sure to get rid of any excess amount. Then begin to apply it on the lid from the outer corner of the eyes and keep it close to the lash line. Do this in a windshield wiper motion."I think of it as a sideways V-shape," Blades said. Have fun with the colours. You can try brown, black, grey or aubergine.
