The lockdown is only going to extend by the looks of it and the summer days are going to get worse. This means we're all going to deal with some or the other seasonal skin issues. And one of the many could be chapped lips for some people as they have the type of skin which dries up due to heat as well. And since it's always a good idea to make use of this lockdown time and learn a few new things, we're here to give you an insight on how to make a lip balm at home. Don't worry, this DIY lip balm only requires ingredients that are easily available.
You need - coconut oil, petroleum jelly, essential oil, old lipsticks and an empty container.
This is how you make your own lip balm at home:
- Take 2 tbsps of coconut oil and half tbsp of petroleum jelly and heat the two of them in microwave safe bowl for 20 seconds at least till it turns into a thick paste.
- Now, scrape off some old lipstick of your choice and add it to the paste. Mix it until the lipstick combines and the paste gets the colour of the lipstick.
- Heat it for 10 seconds until the paste becomes runny and then transfer it in a small container.
- You can store this in your fridge for abut 30 minutes. You now have your own homemade lip balm to your rescue!
