Being under the house arrest is surely making us alter our lifestyle. Besides missing hanging out with our friends and indulging in shopping therapy, what we absolutely miss our salon appointments. Often associated as a luxury service is now a necessity. Meanwhile, salons are going to remain shut for a long time, you can continue washing hair at home to maintain good hair health and its growth. It’s not that difficult. All you need to do is follow a guideline to wash your hair correctly at home and the result will look like as if you have just stepped out from your favourite beauty parlour. Here’s what should and shouldn’t be doing to wash your hair just in salon-style:
Depending on your hair type, you should wash your hair when it is necessary. People with dry hair can wash them every third day whereas people with normal hair type them on every alternate day or on the third day. If you have oily hair then try washing it every day with a mild shampoo or on every alternate day.
Make sure the water you use for hair wash is not hot as it can strip off your hair’s natural oil.
Avoid using your nails to massage your scalp. Make sure you take your time to massage your mane concentrating your fingertips gently focusing on pressure points.
A double cleanse is always better to make sure there’s no dirt left on your scalp.
Use only a pea-sized amount of conditioner for your hair tips and leave it for the directed time.
Avoid brushing your hair when wet. You can finish off with a leave-on serum on your damp hair. However, air-drying hair is best to avoid heat damage.
