Alisha Alam | May 29, 2019, 15:46 ISTA recent study has found that men who consume lots of veggies and fruits like leafy greens, apples, citrus fruits etc. seem to have better health than most women who consume the same diet. The new study claims that this fruit and veggie diet can help prevent diabetes, obesity, some forms of cancer and even heart disease. Apart from benefiting men more than it does women, a fruit and veggie diet can also help increase the lifespan of an individual, the study claims.
Yet another study also found that men who consume vegetables and fruits instead of meat have better blood pressure and blood sugar levels which can help keep their appetite in check. This way proteins are also replaced by healthy foods like pumpkin seeds, lentils, almonds, sesame seeds and cashews. A company that comes up with substitutes for meat products has now also come up with a burger that contains only veggies but tastes a lot like meat.
The creators hope that by making such a food item they can help a meat eater cut down on their meat consumption and opt for healthy foods instead that only comprise of fruits and vegetables. They also hope to replace some of the customers' meat purchases. The researchers, however, warn that these products can't always be used as meat alternatives as they're only about as healthy as the products they've replaced. The researchers suggested that people should consume natural fruits and veggies as compared to specially made products as those work best for one's health. Stay tuned for more updates.
