Times of India on the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, released a heart-warming campaign titled 'Times Out and Proud'. The campaign aims to sensitize society towards the importance of acceptance of the LGBTQIA+members of our community.
The touching campaign was launched with a film that features four people from the LGBTQIA+ community talking about their respective lives. It gives us a glimpse of the struggles they had to face over the years due to societal restrictions/boundaries. Each story exhibits an unapologetic confidence among the members as they take control of their identity and life. In a heart-touching manner, the film narrates how members of the LGBTQIA+ community bare their hearts and souls while coming out in front of the world, especially their family & friends.
The initiative aims to build an inclusive society by introducing a platform for the LGBTQIA+ community to use the Classifieds ads section to share their stories. This is a safe space for the members of the LGBTQIA+ community to not just look for a house, a job or a partner, but a medium through which they can share their stories publicly. The idea is to provide an open platform to them to communicate their needs with one another and society at-large via the Classifieds section.
#TimesOutAndProud wants to change any deep-rooted social perceptions regarding people who identify as LGBTQIA+, and encourage acceptance as well as inclusivity. It encourages people to take a strong stand in the belief that sexual orientation and gender identities are a personal choice.
If you are a member of the LGBTQIA+ community or want to support someone who identifies as LGBTQIA+, please share your story and/or requirements via the Times Out & Proud classifieds, write to us with your full name and contact number at
