We've all
popped a pimple or two and that's no news. Ideally, you shouldn't be doing that and that's no news too. But none of us can give up on the temptation of popping that ugly looking, sometimes painful pimple, can we? There are a lot of times when we unintentionally hit the pimple with a nail or scratch it out which causes it to pop. It can then leave a scar on your face for a long long time.
This is why, we're here to tell you what exactly you should be doing once you pop a pimple.
- Once the pimple is popped, you should never touch it. You should also stop picking it as the skin that is exposed can lead to germs and infections in no time. This can lend you in more mess. Simply let your skin and pimple be. It'll heal in a couple of days.
- Clean your hands and use a cleanser to remove germs and dirt from the affected area too. You need to use a regular facial cleaner to do this. But always remember you wash in a very gentle manner. Don't rub it too hard as it can cause injuries.
- If you start seeing blood or pus oozing out, don't panic and softly dab a clean cotton cloth on that area. You need to apply some ointment on the affected area as soon as you can.
- If you notice that the pimple that just popped is now swollen and red, you can apply some ice on it so that the inflammation is reduced. It'll just take a few minutes but it will feel much better soon after.
- You need to also apply an antiseptic or antibiotic cream on the affected area. The popped pimple is an open wound and you need to take ultra care of it. To make it heal sooner, you can keep applying the ointment regularly.
- Even when the popped pimple surface starts to look dry, you need to keep your hands away from picking it. If you continue to pick the dry skin, you might scratch the area which will again lead to scars.
- Make sure you keep the area clean and treat it regularly until it has healed completely.
