“Chia seeds are high in both, protein and calcium, two important nutrients any vegan diet struggles to keep up with, due to the lack of dairy and meat. Well, that’s not it! It is also packed with fibre, omega-3 fatty acids, and unsaturated fats, which helps stabilise blood sugar levels, promotes smooth digestion and bone strength, as well as enhances hair and skin health,” says a health expert.
This shows just how good chia seeds can be for our health. So, if you're looking for some chia seeds DIYs, here's what you can opt for.
For beautiful skin: Make a smoothie using chia seeds and you'll notice how regular consumption of it can help give your skin the glow it needs.
The ingredients you'll need are 2 to 3 tablespoon chia seeds, 1 banana, 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon oats, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon peanut butter and 200 ml milk (For vegan alternatives, try almond, soy, or cashew milk).
Toss all the ingredients into a blender, blend well to make a nice smoothie and then serve it chilled.
An all-purpose pack: This one will work wonders on your hair, face, skin and pretty much everything.
For this, you'll need 2 tablespoon chia seeds and a few drops of hydrating coconut oil or clarified butter (people with sensitive skin can replace oil with water).
Mix these two ingredients and then heat the mixture. Once warm, apply it to your scalp or skin and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse it off.
Try these out and see how well they work. Stay tuned for more updates.
