The study found that sauna bathing can be associated with a reduction in the risk of vascular diseases, such as high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease, neurocognitive diseases, nonvascular conditions, such as pulmonary diseases, mental health disorders, and mortality.
It is also helpful in alleviating conditions such as skin diseases, arthritis, headache, and flu. Regular sauna baths can also be associated with a better health-related quality of life. It is also said to stabilise the autonomic nervous system, reduce blood pressure, inflammation, oxidative stress, circulation of bad cholesterol, arterial stiffness, and vascular resistance. Sauna baths also promote feelings of relaxation which can be due to the increased production of circulating levels of hormones such as endorphins, researchers said.
