Vishal Bhardwaj is all set to produce director Honey Trehan's next film starring Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan. While the venture is yet untitled, it is based on one of the chapters from the popular book, 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai' by Hussain Zaidi.
Talking about the project Vishal revealed that he is extremely happy that Trehan got to work with his dream cast in his very first film. Vishal added, "I am more excited for my friend Honey, who has been with me for the last 20 years. He is lucky to have this brilliant a cast in his first film. I am very happy and excited to produce the film."
In the film, Deepika will be seen essaying the role of mafia queen Rahima Khan AKA Sapna Didi. Irrfan Khan will play the role of a local gangster, who helped Sapna didi try and eliminate Dawood Ibrahim.
When quizzed about the choice of casting Deepika, Vishal said,
"Deepika is one of the finest actors we have. She has a combination of an actor and a star. Very rarely do we see a superstar who is also a good actor, she is one of that."This project is all set to go on floors in January and will reunite the 'Piku' pair of Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan.
